"Not everyone is an artist, but everyone is a critic." – Marcel Duchamp These quote reflect my belief in the transformative power of art and the importance of creating without fear or inhibition.
Jovana Laković, aka WHOSANGST, MA in Graphic Design and Visual Communication, is a visionary visual artist based in Belgrade. With a relentless drive to explore the profound depths of human emotion, she has carved a unique space in the contemporary art world. Through her captivating works, WHOSANGST delves into the rawest facets of human experience, fearlessly exposing the "naked truth", a bold confrontation of sentiments often buried beneath societal conventions.Art, for WHOSANGST, is more than a medium, it is a catalyst for liberation, a space where emotions flow freely, unencumbered by judgment or constraint. Her creative journey spans private brands, docu-drama films, street art, and avant-garde conceptual projects, each piece echoing her commitment to emotional authenticity.Collaboration fuels her practice, and she is dedicated to empowering fellow artists, urging them to cast aside self-doubt and embrace uninhibited creation. She envisions an art community defined by solidarity, where every voice contributes to a shared quest for universal truths. In the spirit of Marcel Duchamp’s declaration that "Not everyone is an artist, but everyone is a critic," WHOSANGST challenges the culture of superficial judgment, advocating instead for constructive dialogue that nurtures creativity. Her work is a resounding call to arms for artists everywhere: to express, to connect, and to create fearlessly.
During one group exhibition, I was passionately talking about my artwork, pouring my heart out about the raw emotions and deep symbolism behind it. Everyone was gathered around, nodding, smiling, completely captivated, or so I thought. I felt like a Rockstar in that moment, basking in the glow of their attention. Then I realized... they weren’t looking at my piece at all. They were all admiring the artwork right next to mine. One guy even leaned over and whispered, “Wow, the detail in this is incredible!”I had two choices: quietly slink away or double down. Naturally, I doubled down and started critiquing the “amazing” piece too, like I was just one of the crowd. Sometimes, you’ve got to laugh it off and pretend it’s all part of the plan! 😄

It is the eternal song of what flows without question or force, carving its path between rocks and roots, tracing a destiny it never seeks. A silent pulse that intertwines everything in its wake, defying the forces that seek to disturb the fragile balance of nature.
