Bio

Katy Lakatos, whose artist name is Kathara_Light-Art, is based in Brussels. She followed a course in visual arts, decorative arts and a specialization in interior architecture, studying the restoration of antique furniture for two years. And continue to study many things in depth.

She started decorative painting, then specialized in wall frescoes which I had absolutely not studied and worked for many years as a painter in decorative wall arts in Brussels before stopping everything.

The return to art took place in 2014, in difficult life circumstances. She first returned to drawing, using new techniques, dry pastels, pocsa, ecoline and more recently digital finishing in particular.

She works on varied themes, themes dotted with signs, symbols always inspired by death, sensuality, spirituality. With a common characteristic, it promotes the expression of states of mind. An art for her, which aims to express the invisible,

the mysterious, the occult. Nothing, I mean nothing beyond this imaginary world inspires me and especially not reality. She draws inspiration from readings, including poetry, haikus, music and a contemplative state which gives rise to images which she then creates.

She uses drawing, dry pastel, Pan Pastels (magic powder) – mounted in several layers to obtain a precise visual. She chooses a model that she draws then comes all the technique, the tools to obtain what she is looking for.
A temperament that explores, nothing fixed, never the same thing simply because it bores him. A state of research very present in me and which obviously evolves my creative work.

Today her work is evolving towards what she calls 'Poetic Art', a movement long reserved for Poets, for poetry. Poetic Art in painting will come later, because the image reconciles opposites, but this reconciliation cannot be explained by words – except those of the image, which have suppressed being words.

A set of rules whose purpose would be to produce beauty in a work of art. For she, it was obvious, particularly through the feedback from other artists who, when they express themselves upon seeing her work, emphasize the ''Beauty'' which emerges from it and it is essentially for the moment what it highlights and transmits.

All his creations are available in print, on high-end art paper, in limited editions, signed with a certificate of authenticity issued.

Fun facts

Nothing special, I am often seen as mysterious, secretive, who hates to open up....
